John Hill is the president and founder of HillCo, LLC, a full-line beekeeping supply company serving customers across the United States and Canada. His fascination with honeybees began when he was four or five years old, and he started keeping bees at age 16 after catching his first swarm.
John originally planned to become a full-time beekeeper. As he worked to expand his own apiary, the rising cost of package bees, queens, hive components, and extracting equipment led him to begin building his own hives. He later started selling extra hive components to local beekeepers in central Illinois.
As demand grew, John began sourcing honey processing equipment for himself and other beekeepers. These early efforts eventually became HillCo. What started as a regional workshop grew through word of mouth, quality products, and customer service into a nationally known beekeeping supply company.
Today, John leads HillCo with a focus on developing quality products at affordable prices while providing exceptional customer service. His firsthand experience with beekeeping and equipment continues to shape the company's approach to serving beekeepers.
John places a strong emphasis on faith, family, and the customers and team behind HillCo. He credits God for the talents and resources that helped him build the business and recognizes his wife, Marissa, their four children, employees, and customers for their support throughout HillCo's growth. His family has been involved in the business since its early days,and this continues!
