Pierco Plastic Frame and Foundation - Double Wax Coated

These worked very well. Bees took to them readily (I had other new, waxed foundation in the same super and they preferred the white, waxed Pierco!) Normally I use traditional wooden framed foundation but these are just fine for honey supers.

The frames arrived neatly stacked, and the scent of wax hit me even before opening the box. Once opened, the sight was striking. Thick, glossy wax so generously applied that it looked like a crayon-wielding unsupervised child had gone wild. I’ve ordered "other" double-coated frames before and never fully believed what I got was really what I purchased.

I installed them late Thursday evening. By Saturday afternoon, just ahead of a major storm, I was checking the hive and noticed I hadn’t seated the second brood box properly. As I lifted the supers to fix it, I glanced down and was stunned. The Pierco plastic frames were already being aggressively drawn out. Not just started—substantial construction.

Typically, my bees take a full week to warm up to new frames, another week to accept them, and maybe two weeks before they begin to draw them out. These frames completely disrupted that timeline. The bees took to them immediately. In two days, I am seeing major construction on these frames.

Payday is Tuesday, and I’m placing another order. I’m already thinking about next spring’s drawn comb, and these are the frames I’ll trust to get me there.
