Pierco Plastic Frame and Foundation - Double Wax Coated

These frames came well waxed and the bees did draw good comb out of them. However because they were thin plastic they flex a lot which can be annoying when handling but I should have known better with plastic. The real issue is that the bottoms of these frames are not as wide as standard wood frames. And because of this they don’t seat firmly in the extractor. This results in them slipping and falling out of place while the extractor spins. Thankfully nothing broke but I had to stop and reposition them several times. I’m not sure why they are different dimensions. I won’t be using these anymore and will only buy wood frames in the future.

These worked very well. Bees took to them readily (I had other new, waxed foundation in the same super and they preferred the white, waxed Pierco!) Normally I use traditional wooden framed foundation but these are just fine for honey supers.
