I have only been using this for a few weeks but the 5 frame nuc I moved into this took off and is doing great. The feeders make this worth the extra money

Unfortunately I need to drop another star on my rating.

Feeding new bees in these hives are challenging. The tops don’t align very well and seem to warp. Pollen patties don’t fit under the feeders and cause them to sit at angles so feed sometimes leeks out the sides.

Pollen traps are poorly designed. I went to collect pollen today and they do a great job on getting pollen in feeder but the gaps are too wide. Must be 100 bees in the pollen traps. You need to fix that.

The only pros I can see right now is the integrated system to Locke home together. It was super simple moving them from one location to another. I’ve attached that picture. I’m also hoping the other pro is helping with over wintering.

I was hoping the pollen traps and feeders would be better but in the long run it’s causing me lots of pain.

As I also mentioned, pollen traps should come out the back not the front. Huge flaw when collecting

The first bees I put into the hive did not like it; absconded and took over an already occupied wooden hive. It was an odd site. The next colony of bees seem to be enjoying it. I won’t state what’s already been said about feeders etc but I wish the pollen doors were labeled somehow. I cannot remember left or right door for all of the tea in China Lots of laughter. I’ve had to watch videoes to double check. I’m going to label mine somehow. Lastly My standard inner covers won’t allow the lid to fit properly. I find the feeders cumbersome but I need something there to keep the bees from putting propolis on the top so for now they will stay because I do enjoy looking down into the clear view; for now anyway because bees are covering it from the bottom. Overall it’s a great product. I’ll definitely purchase more. I currently only have 2 of them and they were placed into my too small vehicle with exceptional precision. Customer service is always above and beyond which is why I’ve added the extra star.
