The Saber - Serrated Uncapping Knife (Cold)

This knife is amazing! Blade is the right length, sharp, serrated, and in-line with the handle. The handle is an appropriate size with slight "guard" flares to keep your hand where it should be, away from the blade. Even at room temperature it cuts through comb smoothly and almost effortlessly. I'm a male with average sized hands, and COULD use a slightly larger handle, but this one is fine and is a size my wife could use as well. I do most of the uncapping, and she runs the extractor.

I've used hot knives and probably a dozen different cold knives. Until now, all of the purpose made cold knives had horrible handles. Bread knives, carving knives, etc weren't much better. The handles were too small, had sharp edges, and/or no "guard" to keep your hand from sliding up onto the blade. Offset blades are awkward at best and become worse as your hand tires. As the uncapping session progresses, they all become difficult or dangerous to use.

This knife solves ALL of those problems. My search is over. Thank you!

This knife works great in my system. It cuts through the cappings without destroying the comb and runs straight and smooth.
For Bulk uncapping I do use a heated uncapping knife, and when gets too hot or needs a rest, I use this serrated knife which I can't say enough about, 5 stars Hillco.

Haven't used it yet, but so far? Quality looks good feels good. I know it's sharp. I haven't used it yet, so I have to stick with 4 stars for now.
