Steam Wax Melter

I've used the Steam Wax melter three times and have enjoyed very good results each time. I just finished my third load and harvested almost 6 pounds of wax in this load with the internal basket loaded with two filter bags of fresh comb. Three notations for the buyer: (1) the actual steamer attaches to the chrome lid with a 2 inch machine bolt, a nut/lock washer, and a wing nut. The internal head of the machine bolt holds fast a rubber gasket to prevent water from leaking from the steam container. You must secure the lock nut and internal bolt against the steamer firmly or the water drips from the container on to the lid. (2) I've used filter bags inside the steamer basket which has two lovely handles for extraction. The actual steamer has an automatic shut off valve. (3) The steamer, unfortunately, does not come with an off/on switch on the cord or unit, and I added an extension cord matching the gauge of the electric cord with an off/on switch. After having it for a month or more I was finally able to spend some time and melt a batch of comb from cutouts and cappings. This is so much safer and easier than using the old turkey fryer method. I can’t wait to melt some more. Thanks for making a great product.

Was surprised how fast it melted a batch of wax.

When we started to render wax and you have 5 5 gallon buckets full; ya need something faster. Just got the melter today, set it up and am on my second 5 gallon bucket. This melter is fast and my secondary process will have this wax to pure in one more melt.

Bought the Hillco Steam Wax Melter at the 2025 NAHBE. I've used it to render down what resulted in about 50 lbs of wax. What I found to work really well is the use of commercial cold brew filters for 5 gal buckets, available on Amazon. Just fill the filter bags with unrendered wax/comb and let it do it's things. I find doing the process 2 to 3 times yields very clean wax.
