E3 Honey Extractor - Free Shipping!

Got about two gallons of honey from eight medium frames. The free-wheeling and brake feature is great. Like the ease of clean up and the sloping tank floor.

1. *Near miss accident* The one half polycarbonate lid that was not hinged onto the extractor, did not fit properly into place. I had to hold it in place with my free hand as I was spinning. It got loose as the extractor wobbled, and went down into the spinner, then shot out across my kitchen. Fortunately, no one was injured and my hand did not contact the spinning mechanism.
This really needs an engineered fix.
I used blue painters tape to hold the lid in place.

2. The wobbling was a real problem for me, as I was extracting in my kitchen.
So, bolting to the floor is not an option. I had it mounted on a thin wood frame that was not adequate. I plan to construct another base from 4x4's and deck screw the extractor to it.
It would be helpful to have plans for a portable base that would work and minimize the wobbling.

I was hesitant of ordering a manual extractor but after watching the Hillco YouTube video of the E3 I had to give it a try. The shipping was fast, 3 business days.
I just finished extracting 100lbs of honey with it and with little effort. The hand crank is so smooth it takes very little effort and I never even broke a sweat.
Right now I only have 6 hives and would be comfortable using the E3 for 25-30 hives.

A good honey extractor for a beginner beekeeper. The only minus is the plastic lid, if you open it, it constantly closes. It is not convenient to put frames, the lid constantly closes and falls. You need either a magnet or a clamp. I recommend this honey extractor.

I had been waiting for this model to arrive and I’m so happy I did! The quality is fantastic. The ease of use and cleaning is great. I held it in place and my 8 year old grandson cranked it. I will be installing it onto something before I use it again.
