The compact, capable machine you've been looking for! A small footprint, 9 frame extractor with the same features and design as our largest machines.....
Part of our "Max" family of flagship extractors, the MiniMax stands head-and-shoulders above the competition in many ways. Here are a few things that set it apart:
- Proven HillCo PowerMax drive system: an industrial grade motor, gearbox, and controller. Smooth, quiet and durable, it's a great combination of simplicity and refinement. This is the same design that we use all the way up to our big 32 frame extractors!
- 21 gauge, type 304 stainless steel tank
- Ez-Drain honey gate design: the honey drain valve is located slightly below the tank floor, giving you a complete, seamless honey drain.
- Max extractor tank features a HillCo-exclusive tank bottom that slopes towards the front, ensuring that all your honey flows smoothly towards the gate. No tipping the tank, no hassle, it just works!
- Industry exclusive 4/10 warranty: motor, gearbox, controller, and wiring are guaranteed for 4 years. The rest of the machine (tank, legs, lower bearing, reel, etc), are guaranteed for 10 years! We have engineered a quality product and we will stand behind it!
- Designed and assembled in USA by HillCo!
Other features/specs:
- 1/4 horsepower PowerMax motor, 5:1 ratio worm-drive gearbox
- Extracts 9 medium or shallow frames radially. Also extracts 3 deep frames tangentially, with the included deep frame cages. These cages slip in and out easily with no tools required, allowing you to switch from deeps to mediums in seconds!
- Grease-able lower bearing
- Rubber feet to protect your floor
- 5 gallon bucket and strainer fit below the honey gate
- Tank diameter - 21"
- Width (at widest point of legs) - 29"

We went from 6 hives to 14 in 2023, and knew I couldn't (ok--wouldn't want to--lol) hand crank 2 frames a time to extract. Works perfectly. Easy to load--unload---and even do deeps if needed. Best bee purchase to date. We did a test, and by best calculation, we ended up with about 3 pounds of honey more than hand cranking. So, it easily paid for itself that 1st year!
I believe the Bible teaches us not to brag because God made everything you have and everything you are going to have . So if you are going to brag, brag about God . But May God forgive me for bragging for a few minutes. Or for the thousands of hours in the past . I have lost so many hives in my life I had to make probably 1500 to 2500 nucs a year to have a 1,000 to 1500 for the almond pollination. I have used a lot of different honey spinners including 80 frame horizontal spinner, and wax uncappers biggest cowin , gunness , and Lyson and wax press like them all . Still have a lot of that stuff. But have lost a lot of my bees . So am using this little mini Max spinner in my lawn chair . With a five gallon bucket and a two gallon screen and a new paint stick holding part of the screen from going into the bucket. And a bee box with a lid and a plastic box with plastic screen on top to scratch the frames. I use the leg of the spinner and the plastic box to put pressure on the paint stick to keep it from falling into the bucket. And another screen that actually works on a bucket but won’t fit under the spinner . I scrape the screen on the bucket a lot to keep the honey going through it while spinning. And when it has to much wax I dump it into the other bigger screen on the other bucket not under the spinner. When I am done I think it works about as good as my wax honey press does at getting the honey out not as fast or easy but it works. Stops fast, works good, fun to use.
Bought the Minimax earlier this year and have used it twice now. Not only is it a great time saver it's great at its intended purpose. Rubber pads on the legs help dampen vibration and it runs smooth to begin with. Some loads I've been able to run at or near max speed without me having to babysit it. Of course you just can't crank it up to max. If you're thinking about this one it's well worth it. The extractor is efficient and trouble free. Maybe even better than the extractor is the customer service John and his team provide AFTER the sale. They're not here to merely sell things and forget about you. If you have a question or concern and reach out you're going to get a response. Yes I've even gotten a response on the week end. Great extractor from a great company.
Extracted 400lbs this weekend, it worked great but wish I would have bought a bigger one. The other is concerning all extractors. Why do none of them have handles to move them? This would be a great improvement and you could be the first.
I could not say enough to cover all the things an extractor needs to make it worth the time and money to purchase....from the draining to the height and heavy duty basket and motor that won't quit...these are the best extractors on the market....and when you get one you will see why...if you have experience with cheap Chinese junk...come to the light and you will be overwhelmed at your experience at HillCo...John is the best and took great care of me...most important he returned my notes and answered all my questions even on a Holiday Weekend...AAA+ equipment from a AAA+ company...The Best Warranty is just icing on the cake...Buy It You Won't Bee Disappointed
